VMware Installation and Configuration
VMware is the most mature, proven, and comprehensive platform supported for SoftNAS. It is capable of delivering higher reliability, more advanced capabilities, and greater performance than many competing solutions.
SoftNAS™ operates as a VM in the VMware environment. Like other VM's, it must be assigned appropriate resources.
SoftNAS for VMware is a virtual storage appliance, providing storage for any number of workload VM's (or physical machines) on your network. It is ideal for premise-based VM environments.
With SoftNAS, you simply plug in as many SSD, SAS, SATA, SAN, USB storage devices as you need into VMware.
SoftNAS then works in conjunction with VMware to provide high-performance, high availability network-attached storage to your workloads.
