You can delete volumes that are no longer used.   Be careful, as permanent data loss can occur when EBS volumes are deleted.

 

1.  To delete a volume, select it from the Volumes page on EC2 dashboard.

 

2.  On the Actions drop down list, select the Delete Volume option.

 

The Delete Volume message box asking you to confirm the deletion of the volume will be displayed.

 

 

3.  Confirm the deletion of the volume by clicking the Yes, Delete button.

 

The selected volumes will be deleted.
